The harmony in design philosophy is the key factor for Asia’s leading real estate developer CapitaLand Development (Vietnam) to choose studioMilou as the main design consultant, creating the masterpiece named Lumi Hanoi.
In this, light and green landscapes are the core structures narrated in every detail of the “City of Light” in the western part of the capital.
From the world-renowned light sculptures…
studioMilou, an architectural company established in 1988 by the prominent French architect Jean-François Milou. The company was initially founded with the purpose of conserving and restoring the functions of famous cultural-historical heritage, then expanded to develop commercial, residential projects, etc. Jean-François Milou has been a senior advisor to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and has participated in numerous national heritage conservation projects.
With significant contributions to the field of architecture and iconic projects, he was awarded the French Knighthood in 2018 and elevated studioMilou to become a leading architectural firm in Europe. Based in Singapore, studioMilou has reinforced its reputation through many famous projects in the Lion City and Asia as a whole. Thus, they also create a difference through a profound understanding of the diverse and rich cultural background of Asia.
Jean-François Milou once shared with his colleagues: “Every architectural structure becomes ugly if it lacks greenery and landscapes.” Therefore, in every design, he always emphasizes natural landscapes and existing structures. His style is a testament to the concept that “Simplicity does not equate to dullness,” demonstrated through commercial projects, high-end apartments such as Gangil Seoul Compact City (South Korea), The Avenir (Singapore),…
Looking back at studioMilou’s projects, it’s not difficult to notice a common theme in architecture, which lies in the enveloping green landscape, along with the application of giant glass panels to integrate and maximize natural light into the space.

Bringing that distinctive design spirit to Lumi Hanoi, studioMilou creates a unique architectural blend of light and structure, ensuring the project stands out unmistakably. Breaking away from the monotony of the project’s facade, the residential towers are designed with a special structure, purposefully arranged large glass panels to maximize natural light, breathing life into the spacious, airy living spaces.
According to the project developer, to flood the living space with light, studioMilou has brought forth a Lumi Hanoi emerging from a unique landscape, harmonizing with a natural ecosystem spanning 4.3 hectares. Among these features, the Green Lung park, sprawling throughout the project, adorned with multilayered, multicolored vegetation, brings green vitality to the doorstep of each home.
In addition to design elements, a collection of over 80 internal utilities catering to the diverse needs of residents of all ages has been built closely following the dominant idea of light, promoting a dynamic, vibrant lifestyle.
Right after its debut, Lumi Hanoi excelled in bringing home major awards at the PropertyGuru Real Estate Awards 2023, with 2 awards in the architecture category: “Excellent Architectural Design” and “Excellent Landscape Design.” These awards are a testament to the strict standards and demands for quality upheld by CapitaLand Development (Vietnam) in every small detail throughout the construction journey of Lumi Hanoi. The project promises to become a focal point attracting the sophisticated community – those who value artistic elements in living spaces.
