D' El Dorado Apartment for Rent: A Smarter Way to Live Near West Lake

You do not always need a 150-square-metre apartment to enjoy life around West Lake.

Sometimes what matters more is being able to walk out of your building, reach the lake in minutes, grab dinner nearby, get to Lotte Mall without crossing the city and still have a straightforward route towards Noi Bai Airport.

That is where D' El Dorado becomes interesting.

It is not the most spacious residential project in Tay Ho.

It is not trying to be.

Instead, D' El Dorado offers something many renters actually need: modern, manageable apartments in one of northwest Hanoi's most practical locations.

For singles, couples, young families and international professionals, a D' El Dorado apartment for rent can provide the West Lake lifestyle without requiring the budget — or the unused space — of a much larger luxury residence.

But there is one important detail you should understand before looking at listings.

There are actually two D' El Dorado buildings.

And they do not offer exactly the same living experience.

Before Choosing an Apartment, Choose Your Side of D' El Dorado

Most rental advertisements simply say “D' El Dorado Tay Ho.”

That is not quite enough.

The development is made up of two separate towers located around the Nguyen Hoang Ton corridor.

D' El Dorado I is located at 659A Lac Long Quan. Project records describe it as a 27-storey building with four basement levels and approximately 448 apartments.

D' El Dorado II is at 298 Vo Chi Cong, also rising 27 storeys, with approximately 402 apartments and residences ranging from compact units to larger 3-bedroom homes.

That distinction matters more than most rental guides suggest.

If you prefer easier access toward Lac Long Quan and the established West Lake neighbourhood, one building may feel more natural.

If your daily routine takes you towards Vo Chi Cong, Nhat Tan Bridge, Starlake or the airport corridor, the other may be more convenient.

So when somebody tells you they have “a great apartment at D' El Dorado,” your first question should be:

Which building?

What Makes the Location Work So Well?

D' El Dorado sits in a part of Tay Ho where several different versions of Hanoi meet.

Walk one direction and you are at West Lake.

Go another and you are heading towards Ciputra and Starlake.

Vo Chi Cong takes you quickly north towards Nhat Tan Bridge and Noi Bai Airport.

And Lotte Mall West Lake has added a completely different level of shopping, dining and entertainment convenience to the neighbourhood.

Current hospitality listings for apartments within the development place West Lake at roughly 200 metres and Lotte Mall at approximately 700 metres from the Nguyen Hoang Ton location.

This creates a daily routine that is surprisingly easy.

You do not have to plan an entire afternoon around buying groceries.

You do not have to drive halfway across Hanoi for dinner.

And if you travel frequently, reaching the airport does not require crossing the historic centre first.

That practicality is probably D' El Dorado's strongest advantage.

The Best D' El Dorado Apartment Is Often Not the Biggest One

This is where the project becomes different from Heritage West Lake, Starlake or traditional Ciputra apartments.

D' El Dorado has a strong selection of compact apartments.

That is not necessarily a weakness.

For the right tenant, it is exactly the point.

Current rental inventory includes studios around 33–40 sqm, 1-bedroom homes around 45–50 sqm, 2-bedroom apartments from roughly 70–90 sqm, and larger family layouts around the 100 sqm level and above.

Studio: For Someone Who Wants Location, Not Extra Rooms

A studio at D' El Dorado can work particularly well for an individual professional, teacher, consultant or someone arriving in Hanoi for the first time.

You have enough space to live comfortably without paying for a guest bedroom that remains empty for eleven months of the year.

And the current rental market reflects that accessibility.

In September 2026, studios around 33–40 sqm commonly appear from approximately VND 7.5–11 million/month, depending heavily on furniture and view.

For someone who wants Tay Ho without a USD 1,500 monthly lease, that deserves attention.

1 Bedroom: Probably the Most Underrated Option

The 1-bedroom market becomes interesting around the 40–50 sqm level.

These apartments give couples or individual professionals a real bedroom separated from the living area while keeping monthly costs relatively controlled.

Current listings put many 1-bedroom apartments in approximately the VND 9–15 million/month range, depending on whether the apartment is basic or fully furnished.

A 1.5-bedroom configuration can also appear.

For example, current inventory includes units around 50 sqm marketed around VND 11–12 million/month.

For someone working from home, that half-bedroom may be far more useful than another ten square metres of living room.

2 Bedrooms: Where D' El Dorado Becomes a Family Home

A 2 bedroom apartment for rent in D' El Dorado is usually the most practical category for couples planning to stay longer or small families.

Current apartments commonly appear around 70–90 sqm.

Recent September 2026 listings show fully furnished 2-bedroom homes at around VND 14–16 million/month, although the wider project range can extend from roughly VND 13 million towards VND 20 million depending on size, interior and view.

At this point, I would stop comparing apartments purely on price.

A VND 14 million apartment facing another building may not represent better value than a VND 16 million apartment with natural light and a good West Lake orientation.

You live with the view every day.

You only negotiate the rent once.

3 Bedrooms: Less Common, More Sensitive to Quality

Larger D' El Dorado apartments move into a different segment.

Current rental guides place many 3-bedroom homes around VND 18–25 million/month, while overall advertised rental prices at D' El Dorado II can extend well above VND 30 million for larger or more premium residences.

This is where the individual apartment matters enormously.

An older interior can make a large apartment feel dated.

A renovated one with open views can feel like a completely different property.

For that reason, a 3-bedroom search should begin with photographs and viewing quality rather than simply filtering “3BR.”

The Real D' El Dorado Price List Is About More Than Bedrooms

A useful September 2026 rental guide looks roughly like this:

Apartment Practical asking range
Studio, 33–40 sqm VND 7.5–11M/month
1BR / 1.5BR, approx. 40–50 sqm VND 9–15M/month
2BR, approx. 70–90 sqm VND 13–20M/month
3BR, approx. 100–120 sqm VND 18–25M+ / month
Premium / larger residences Can exceed VND 30M/month

These are asking-price ranges, not a building tariff. Current marketplace inventory confirms a particularly wide spread according to tower, floor, furniture and view.

And this is exactly why two D' El Dorado listings can look confusing.

The bedroom count may be identical.

The rent may not be.

What Are You Actually Paying Extra For?

Usually, one or more of five things.

1. The West Lake view

This is probably the biggest one.

A compact apartment with a beautiful lake view may command more rent than a larger unit without one.

And that can make sense.

A view changes the apartment every day.

2. Floor level

Higher floors may provide better views and reduced street-level visual clutter, but the premium only makes sense if the orientation works.

3. Furniture

“Fully furnished” is one of the least useful phrases in Hanoi rental listings.

It might mean a thoughtfully renovated apartment with excellent appliances.

Or it might mean somebody added a sofa and television five years ago.

Always view the actual unit.

4. Orientation and traffic exposure

Lac Long Quan and Vo Chi Cong are major urban roads.

That is fantastic for connectivity.

It also means road-facing apartments should be checked carefully for noise.

Visit at a realistic time, not at 11:00 on a quiet weekday morning.

5. The landlord

This part never appears in the brochure.

A responsive landlord who replaces equipment quickly can make a slightly more expensive apartment a far better rental than the cheapest listing online.

For a 12- or 24-month lease, that matters.

What Happens When You Step Outside the Apartment?

D' El Dorado's published building facilities include commercial areas, swimming facilities, gym and wellness services, with shops and services incorporated into the lower levels.

But the bigger amenity is the neighbourhood itself.

West Lake is close enough to become part of your daily routine.

Lotte Mall gives you international retail, restaurants, supermarket shopping and entertainment nearby.

Drive west and you connect towards Starlake and Cau Giay.

Head north and you are on the Nhat Tan–airport corridor.

And move south around the lake and you gradually enter the more established Tay Ho expat neighbourhood.

D' El Dorado therefore works less like a residential compound and more like a well-positioned city building.

That difference matters.

D' El Dorado at 7:30 in the Morning

Imagine you work in western Hanoi.

You leave your apartment, get onto Vo Chi Cong and head towards your office.

Or perhaps your children attend school around Ciputra.

The journey does not require travelling through Hoan Kiem.

Maybe you work remotely instead.

You grab coffee, walk near the lake and return home before your first meeting.

That is the kind of lifestyle D' El Dorado suits.

Not a resort.

Not a gated township.

A practical urban base beside West Lake.

D' El Dorado at 7:30 in the Evening

You come home.

Dinner can be around Lotte Mall, Lac Long Quan or deeper inside Tay Ho.

You might walk near the lake.

Or simply stay upstairs and watch Hanoi through the windows.

This is why I think the project works particularly well for people who like Tay Ho but do not necessarily need the Xuan Dieu lifestyle every night.

You are close enough to join it.

But you do not have to live directly inside it.

D' El Dorado vs Kosmo Tay Ho

These two projects often enter the same rental shortlist.

Kosmo Tay Ho generally provides a larger residential complex with three towers, more substantial internal communal spaces and many mainstream 2–3-bedroom family apartments.

D' El Dorado is more compact and arguably more urban.

Its biggest strengths are the wide selection of smaller apartments and its immediate relationship with the Nguyen Hoang Ton–Lac Long Quan–Vo Chi Cong corridor.

If you want more internal residential space, Kosmo may suit you.

If you want a smaller home and strong location efficiency, D' El Dorado can make more sense.

D' El Dorado vs Heritage West Lake

This comparison is even more interesting.

Heritage West Lake sits considerably higher in the luxury segment, with large flagship residences, private lift lobbies and a more exclusive amenity environment.

D' El Dorado provides a far more accessible entry point into the same broader West Lake location.

You are choosing between two completely different ideas of luxury.

At Heritage, luxury is privacy, space and architecture.

At D' El Dorado, the value proposition is location and convenience without unnecessary excess.

Neither approach is automatically better.

They simply suit different tenants.

Who Should Seriously Consider D' El Dorado?

I would put it on the shortlist for:

Single professionals who want a modern apartment near West Lake.

Couples who prefer spending money on location rather than unused bedrooms.

Young families needing a practical 2-bedroom home.

Frequent travellers who value access towards Nhat Tan Bridge and Noi Bai.

Remote workers who want the Tay Ho lifestyle close by without living directly in the busiest expat streets.

And international tenants who are new to Hanoi and want daily life to feel relatively straightforward.

Who Might Prefer Somewhere Else?

D' El Dorado is less convincing if your number-one priority is space.

If you want 140–200 sqm for a family, traditional Ciputra, Starlake or some premium Tay Ho developments may offer stronger options.

Likewise, if you want extensive resort-style grounds and a gated neighbourhood, D' El Dorado is not trying to provide that lifestyle.

Understanding this is important.

A good real-estate recommendation should not convince everybody to rent the same project.

It should help the right tenant recognise when a project fits.

Before Signing a Lease, Check These Seven Things

When viewing a D' El Dorado apartment, I would check:

Which tower is it — D' El Dorado I or II?

What does the apartment actually face?

How much traffic noise enters with the window open?

How strong is the afternoon sun?

Are building management and parking fees included?

Which furniture and appliances remain?

Who is responsible when an appliance or air conditioner breaks?

Find Your D' El Dorado Apartment with Jackie Realtor

There are plenty of D' El Dorado advertisements online.

The difficult part is not finding an advertisement.

It is knowing whether the apartment is still available, whether the photos are current and whether the rent actually makes sense.

Tell Jackie Realtor:

Your monthly budget.
Preferred number of bedrooms.
Move-in date.
Workplace or school location.
Whether you need full furniture.
And how important a West Lake view is to you.

We can then narrow the search before arranging viewings.

Because sometimes the best apartment is not the largest one.

It is the apartment that puts the right amount of space in exactly the right place.
