Tu Lien bridge project and metro line No. 5 Van Cao – Ngoc Khanh – Lang – Hoa Lac are one of the key transportation projects of Hanoi. The project receives special attention and attention from the city’s political system and its people.
Memorandum Signing Event
On the morning of January 18, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in investment research and construction of a number of key projects in the capital between the Hanoi Department of Transport and Communications. , Pacific Construction Group (China) and Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex).
According to the memorandum, relevant parties agreed to cooperate and share experiences in implementing and researching key transport infrastructure projects in Hanoi, focusing on two projects.
First, the investment project to build Tu Lien bridge and road from Tu Lien bridge to Hanoi – Thai Nguyen expressway with a total route length of about 11.5km from Nghi Tam intersection to belt intersection 3 (Ha Noi expressway). Noi – Thai Nguyen).

Construction of Tu Lien bridge with a length of 2,924km, of which the main bridge is 1km long, the cross-sectional scale according to planning ensures 6 motor vehicle lanes, 2 mixed lanes and 2 walking lanes…Total investment about 20,000 billion VND.
Second, the investment project to build metro line No. 5, section Van Cao – Ngoc Khanh – Lang – Hoa Lac. Standard double-track scale, electrified with a length of 38.43km (including 6.5km underground, 2km elevated and 29.93km above ground), 21 stations and 2 depot areas. Preliminary total investment is about 65,000 billion VND.
Tu Lien bridge changes the real estate picture of the area
The project implementation period is expected to last 5 years in the period from 2022 – 2026. Previously, the project was approved for investment in the form of BT, however, on June 18, 2020, the National Assembly passed the Investment Law. under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, officially abolishing investment projects in the form of build-transfer (BT) contracts, the law takes effect from January 1, 2021. Thus, the Tu Lien bridge project is one of 82 BT projects in Hanoi that will have to be temporarily suspended to be converted to implementation by public investment and other appropriate investment forms. Hopefully, the roadmap for building Tu Lien Bridge will be accelerated and completed soon in the next 5-year term. With the strong development trend on both sides of the Red River, in the future, Hanoi will build many bridges across the river to meet the increasing traffic flow. The Tu Lien Bridge project is one of the important plans contributing to promoting the development of Dong Anh and real estate projects here to a new level.
